A Journey of Love and Commitment: Supporting Orphans in Kisii, Kenya Since 2011
Since 2011, I have had the deep honor and responsibility of supporting a small orphanage and school in Kisii, Kenya, a mission that began with a single act of kindness and has since grown into a long-term commitment to hope, care, and transformation.
This community, located in the Nyamarambe region of South Mugirango constituency, is home to thousands of children orphaned by disease, poverty, and past political unrest. Many arrive malnourished, in need of urgent care, and without access to basic education. Together with local leaders, we’ve worked to create a space where these children can receive love, safety, and opportunity.
Over the years, I have supported the orphanage through:
Ongoing donations of food and clothing
Educational materials and school supplies
Support for clean water access and sanitation
Medical aid and care for vulnerable children
Annual Christmas gifts and meals
Encouraging spiritual development through local partnerships
Through this ongoing support, we’ve helped bring stability and joy to over 150 children each year. From graduation ceremonies to small daily victories, the impact of this work continues to inspire and humble me.
This is more than charity, it’s a lifelong commitment to standing with those in need and believing in a better future for every child.
To everyone who has supported this cause alongside me, thank you. And to those just learning about it, I invite you to be part of this journey, whether through donations, volunteering, or simply sharing the message.
Together, we can continue to spread love, dignity, and opportunity, one child at a time.
With gratitude,
Barbara Alli
